Facilities

The main facilities of the Photonics Engineering Group are placed in the R&D Photonics Engineering Laboratory. The laboratory has a total area of 450 m2, divided into 11 specific working areas. These research facilities are equipped for the demonstration, manufacturing and characterization of optical devices.

Relevant equipment in every working area:



I. UV lasers and workstations for material and fiber processing PDF Print E-mail

High power UV lasers for photonic material processing and workstations for optical fibre technology device manufacturing:

I) CW Frequency-doubled Argon Laser from Fred Innova-Coherent (at 244nm) and BraggStar Excimer Laser from TUI (operating at 248nm).

II) High power Excimer Laser from Lambda Physik (192nm) and micromachining precision station:

III) ND:YAG Pulsed Multiwavelength Laser (1062, 532,355 y 266nm) (in process of acquisition).
IV) System for manufacturing fiber taper devices.
V) System for manufacturing passive optical devices (couplers, multiplexers).

III. Volume optics PDF Print E-mail
