Jay Kumler started Coastal Optical Systems in 1991 with Marc Neer, George Fabich, and Wilhelm Geissler, and he has served as Coastal's president for 16 years. Additionally, he is president of the Liebmann Optical Company and serves on the board of directors of MEMS Optical and the American Precision Optical Manufacturer's Association. Mr. Kumler has published technical papers and articles on optical design, manufacturing and optical metrology, and currently serves on two advisory committees for SPIE. Jay lives in Florida with his wife Tammy and his two children, Joshua and Stephanie.
