Pedro Alves was born in 1972 in Lisbon, Portugal. He graduated in 1995 in computers and electronics engineering–telecommunications at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon. In 1997, he submitted his thesis for a master’s in science in electronics and computers systems–electronic systems to the same university. He began his professional career as an applications engineer at National Instruments (U.S. and Brazil) between 1998 and 1999. He was the branch manager at National Instruments Portugal between 2000 and 2003 and regional sales manager at Alfautomazione between 2003 and 2004. A member of FiberSensing’s board of directors since 2004, Pedro Antão Alves is the company’s CEO and director of sales and marketing.
