BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING GROUP

The Biomedical Engineering Group (TOA), ascribed to the Electronics Technology, Systems and Automation Engineering Department (TEISA) of the University of Cantabria (UC) is a research group formed in 2002 and coordinated by Prof. José Luis Arce Diego.

The main research areas of our group are the following:

  • Electromagnetic and acoustic techniques of analysis, diagnosis and image dianosis of biological media
  • Electrophysiological techniques of analysis, diagnosis and treatment of biological tissues
  • Advanced optical techniques for the analysis, structural and molecular characterizatoin of biological media
  • Optical techniques for treatment and surgery on biological media
  • Endoscopes and fiber optic probes for biomedical applications
